JV North is a consortium made up of housing associations across the north of England and one of the biggest developers of new social homes in the UK.

Since forming in 2007, we have built one home every working day with the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Our membership comprises of nine Full, 11 Associate and one Procurement member who collectively manage over 114,500 homes.

Benefits of the consortium approach include economies of scale (when bidding for grant and procuring works); its own European framework; and, sharing of information, best practice and management.

We are currently completing the 2015/18 Affordable Homes Programme where 1,697 homes will be built by 31st March 2018.

Work is also well underway in the 2016/21 Shared Ownership Affordable Homes Programme with over 3,000 homes being built thanks to an investment of nearly half a billion pounds.

Total member investment and HCA grant is £899 million.

Work to build the homes sees members calling off contractors and consultants who have been appointed to the new 2017/21 JV North Framework.

For the first time, the framework has been divided in two, allowing SMEs to tender for works valued at under £1 million in a simpler procurement process, giving members the opportunity to invest further in their local communities.

The other half of the framework sees larger businesses, such as PLC contractors applying for schemes over £1 million.

JV North is also well known and respected in the sector as an innovator having delivered two modern methods of construction pilot schemes with the HCA providing nearly 50 homes built off-site.

Members’ work has resulted in significant community benefits with more than 6,000 people enjoying new homes; thousands of local jobs created; approximately 100 apprenticeships; hundreds of brownfield sites brought back into use; and, investment multiplier figures showing £2,004.1 million additional money received in JV North neighbourhoods.
