New Charter Housing Trust Group is based in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, and owns 18,600 homes.  We formed in 1999 as the new landlords to own and manage homes transferred from Tameside Council.  The Group incorporates Aksa HA and Gedling Homes in Nottinghamshire.

Our vision is:

Great Homes - we have a wide selection of homes to rent across Tameside, Oldham, Bury and Manchester, and almost all have recently been improved.  Our homes in Gedling are undergoing a £41m refit.

Great Neighbourhoods - we take a wide view of our role in the community, with active and financial involvement in activities as diverse as youth development and healthy living dance classes for older residents.  New Charter is the first housing association in the country to sponsor an Academy, a new type of school.

Great People - our interest in customers is at our heart.  We believe in providing a great package to recruit and retain every one of our 840 staff.  In return, we want them to keep us at the top of tenant satisfaction.  For the last three years, we've headed the English league table of large landlords.  At 92% satisfied, we believe there's more we can do!
