JV North is a consortium of housing associations and local authorities from across the North West and is one of the biggest developers of new social homes in the UK.
JV North formed in 2007 and since then our membership – and the number of homes we have built – has consistently grown.
Currently the consortium comprises of 12 full, three associate and three procurement members who collectively manage over 125,000 homes.
Members are building the equivalent of 3.5 homes every working day to help address the housing crisis.
Benefits of the consortium approach include economies of scale (when bidding for Homes England grant and procuring works); its own framework; and, sharing of information, intelligence, best practice and risk management.
In the 2016/21 Shared Ownership Affordable Homes Programme, over 4,550 homes are being built thanks to an investment of over half a billion pounds. Members will be building thousands more properties in the 2021/26 Affordable Homes Programme.
Work to build homes sees members calling off contractors and consultants from JV North’s Framework.

Members’ work has resulted in significant community benefits with more than 6,000 people enjoying new homes; thousands of local jobs created; approximately 100 apprenticeships; hundreds of brownfield sites brought back into use; and, investment multiplier figures showing over £2 billion additional money received in JV North neighbourhoods.
Since forming, JV North members and Homes England have invested £899 million in total.
