A JV North member is putting the finishing touches to new homes being delivered under the 2015/18 Affordable Homes Programme.
Community Gateway Association in Preston is investing over £2 million to build 18 homes on an array of brownfield sites.
In Ingol, a £859,716 community-led scheme sees six 1-bedroom and two 2-bedroom bungalows being built on several former domestic garage sites.
The first two bungalows have just been handed over to Community Gateway Association by the contractor, DJ Hughes Ltd.
Community Gateway Association’s other development is Savick – Phase 1, consisting of 10 homes across three sites, one of which is on land of the former Savick public house.
Contractor, P Case & Co. Ltd is building eight 2-bedroom homes and two 2-bedroom detached bungalows in the £1.16 million scheme.
The homes will be made available at affordable rent.
Regeneration Manager at Community Gateway Association, Andrew Mason, said: “The developments are taking place at several sites across Preston bringing brownfield land back into use.
“The schemes feature a variety of one and two bedroom houses and bungalows to help meet the needs of local people and diversify our property portfolio.
“Funding comes from Community Gateway Association’s investment and grant from Homes England’s 2015/18 Affordable Homes Programme which we bid for as a member of the JV North consortium.”
