JV North member Wythenshawe Community Housing Group is nearing completion of its first modular offsite home development scheme.
Five homes built using modern methods of construction have been delivered and craned into place on foundations at Haveley Circle in the Benchill area of the town.
The high quality two-bedroom homes were constructed in a controlled factory environment eliminating outside elements.
They are pre-fitted with electrics, plumbing, heating, doors, windows and internal finishes allowing for a quicker programme.
Waste is reduced by up to 80% due to materials being already at the factory and cut to size before going to site.
Offsite build also reduces disruption, noise and traffic in the community as fewer tradespeople attend the site than when traditionally building.
The scheme is supported by £100,000 of funding from Homes England with Wythenshawe Community Housing Group bidding via the JV North consortium.
The remaining £492,000 has been invested by the 14,000-home landlord.
It is the third offsite development delivered by a JV North member following schemes from New Charter and Liverpool Mutual Homes.
