One of Liverpool’s landmark towers has been transformed into modern apartments for over 55s and supported housing in an £8m scheme.

Some 57 Marwood Tower flats have been remodelled by JV North member Liverpool Mutual Homes.

A new section was built in an arc around the tower’s base providing 24 new apartments.

An encapsulated courtyard garden features an all-weather bowling green and relaxing gardens.

Covered walkways that open in the centre of the courtyard add comfort and link the old and new buildings together.

Sustainable measures include LED lights, rainwater harvesting for the garden and the tower clad in an insulated, soundproof rain screen material.

Liverpool Mutual Homes worked with support charity Imagine and a number of the apartments allow people with support needs to live independently.
