DEVELOPMENT OF THE MONTH: KINGFISHER GARDENS, GORTON

JV NorthCommunities, Home building, Homes England, Shared ownership, SOAHP 2016/21

Kingfisher Gardens

This brownfield infill site in Rainshaw Lane was stock transferred to One Manchester (then known as Eastlands Homes) from Manchester City Council.

Now christened Kingfisher Gardens, the land has been developed into 10 new semi-detached houses featuring parking spaces and rear gardens.

Six of the homes are three-bed and four are two-bed properties.

All homes on the development are for shared ownership sale offering an initial share of 35 per cent.

Two of the properties have solar panels, which will assist residents with their heating costs.

The homes are in an envious position close to Manchester city centre and within walking distance of the local train station and Fallowfield cycle loop.
