This development in Ryecroft Street, Ashton-under-Lyne on a brownfield site consists of 2 four-bed six-person houses, 7 three-bed five-person houses, 30 two-bed four-person houses and 12 one-bed two-person apartments.
The homes have been designed with a fabric first approach featuring highly insulated walls and ceilings, double-glazed windows and airtight doors to help tackle fuel poverty by keeping energy bills low.
The site was previously used to manufacture rubber mouldings and had some challenging remediation requirements that were overcome due to the developer having expertise in this field.
Once completed, it will provide homes in a key site, located in close proximity to Ashton-under-Lyne town centre and is part of New Charter Homes’ wider plans to build 205 properties under the 2015/18 Affordable Homes Programme.
