A JV North member has completed one of the first schemes in the 2015/18 Affordable Homes Programme.
Eastlands Homes finished its Folkestone Road scheme in mid-December and all were let immediately.
The development, totalling £790,404, saw six two-bed homes built in the Clayton area of east Manchester.
All meet Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes thanks to a fabric first design approach that focuses on air tightness, good insulation and ‘Showersave’ waste water heat recovery systems.
Eastlands Homes, now part of the One Manchester Group that manages 12,500 homes, is a member of the JV North consortium that received a £34.8 million allocation from the Homes and Communities Agency.
David Williams, Group Director of Assets and Growth at One Manchester, said: “Completing the scheme just eight months into the new HCA development programme is credit to all our partners and in particular JV North who played an intrinsic role securing funding initially and then drawing down early funding.
“We already had a proven track record of delivery in the 2011/15 programme and had completed all our schemes so we were eager to carry on providing new homes to meet local demand.
“We’re delighted to complete the handover of these new two-bed homes in Clayton that will provide affordable housing for six families.
“The new properties are built to high quality energy-efficient standards and add to One Manchester’s growing portfolio in east and south Manchester.”
Chairman of JV North, Nigel Wilson, said: “This is further evidence of the consortium’s ability to deliver vital new homes.
“JV North will build approximately 2,000 new properties by 2018 and Eastlands Homes has set the benchmark in terms of speed of delivery and other members are close behind ready to finish their first projects in this HCA programme.”
JV North’s 10 members have now started 28 schemes on site in the 2015/18 Affordable Homes Programme.
