Housing consortium JV North completed its contractual schemes with the Homes and Communities Agency ahead of the 2011/15 Affordable Homes Programme deadline.
Members, made up of 10 landlords spanning Chester, Manchester, Liverpool, Preston and Nottingham, built 1,064 new properties ahead of the March 31 deadline.
Funding came in the form of a £22.29 million grant from the HCA and close to £100m invested by members.
Chairman of JV North, Nigel Wilson, said: “Members have worked very hard to build these homes to deadline and the results are clear to see: over 1,000 new homes.
“It’s a great success story for tenants who now have modern, energy efficient, warm homes to enjoy and for many young people too who have benefited from the apprenticeships offered as part of the programme.
“For our members it means we are going someway towards addressing housing demand in our communities.
“We have already started ahead of schedule for the 2015/18 Affordable Homes Programme and the Board has made a commitment to improve further the number of apprenticeships offered.”
