JV North member Wythenshawe Community Housing Group’s Bideford Street scheme is underway as part of the 2015/18 Affordable Homes Programme.
Latest figures from JV North show members have already started on site building over 200 homes out of its 2015/18 allocation.
A total of 221 units out of the 1,745 the consortium will build over the next three years are now underway.
Of these, 100 received grant in March 2015 as early starts allowed the 2015/18 programme to begin ahead of schedule.
JV North received an allocation of £34.8 million from the Homes and Communities Agency for the 2015/18 Affordable Homes Programme.
This is being complemented by members who are collectively investing £161.9 million.
JV North Chairman Nigel Wilson, who is also Chief Executive of Wythenshawe Community Housing Group, said: “Our work to address the growing demand for affordable housing in our communities is forging ahead.
“We completed our allocations in the 2011/15 Affordable Homes Programme ahead of schedule and this allowed members to drawdown funding early for 2015/18 developments.
“The need to identify land, design schemes and build homes has never been more important as waiting lists continue to grow.”
Of the 1,745 homes being built, 1,493 will be made available at affordable rents and 252 offered as shared ownership.
Liverpool Mutual homes will build 554 homes, Helena Partnerships 394, Wythenshawe Community Housing Group 259, New Charter Housing Trust 205 and Trafford Housing Trust 121.
Preston’s Community Gateway will develop 110 homes, Gedling Homes in Nottingham will build 39, Aksa Homes 35, Weaver Vale Housing Trust 20 and Eastlands Homes eight.
