JV North is looking to establish new partnerships to increase the number of homes built up to and beyond the current 2016/21 Shared Ownership Affordable Homes Programme (SOAHP).

Made up of Northern based housing associations and home building local authorities, the consortium is planning the next chapter in its successful history.

JV North, which has built the equivalent of two-and-a-half homes every working day since forming in 2007, now wants to further increase the number of homes it builds.

JV North Chairman Wayne Gales, who is also Chief Executive at Weaver Vale Housing Trust, said: “JV North’s track record is outstanding, by the end of 2021 members will have built over 8,500 homes.

“We are currently planning our next chapter beyond the current 2016/21 Shared Ownership Affordable Homes Programme.

“We are also looking for any other future opportunities that may emerge to support partners to further increase the delivery of new homes.

“We know from experience that in order to maximise value and placemaking outcomes the key to success is working together with partners.

“As such, we are keen to hear from likeminded housing associations and local authorities to help us shape JV North’s future.

“Our aim is to support the delivery of new homes, with affordable housing of all tenures and types offered across the region from city centres like Liverpool to smaller hamlet sites in rural Cheshire.

“JV North is a genuine partnership.

“We work together, members have equal status and as well as securing high levels of Homes England grant to build, we also share knowledge, market data and emerging risks and opportunities.”

The consortium is managed and administered by the Saffer Cooper Consultancy that provides expertise in all areas relating to Homes England’s development programme.

Housing associations and local authorities are able to join as full members with a seat on the JV North board or as procurement members where they access the consortium’s £180m OJEU-compliant framework of contractors and consultants.

JV North’s current development programme sees it building over 4,500 homes in the 2016/21 SOAHP with members investing c£500m supported by Homes England grant of £150m.
