One Manchester’s Sandpiper Place scheme is JV North and Inside Housing magazine’s Development of the Week [below].
The Rent to Buy development is on a site that was previously used as a sawmill, police station and warehouse.
The 26-home scheme will include eight, three-storey and 18, two-storey houses all of which have three-bedrooms.
Each will benefit from front and rear gardens and curtilage parking.
The homes are being built with £754,000 of Homes England funding secured by a bid from JV North.
Construction is taking a ‘fabric first’ approach with highly efficient materials and insulation used to keep energy bills low for tenants.
Adjacent to the site will see a local charity called Oasis build its new community centre thanks to a partnership with One Manchester to improve the wider area.
Sandpiper Place is in a prime location close to a range of amenities and having good transport links as well as being part of a bigger regeneration scheme.
